Ministry Update
January – March 2004
Dear Praying Friends,
2004 has started off with a "bang" for us with meetings all around the state of Alaska. We have experienced every kind of weather, from rain storms and temperatures in the mid +40's to ice fog and minus 50's. That's Alaska in the winter!
We were able to start out the new year with a revival meeting at Lighthouse Baptist Church on the island of Kodiak. We had a great meeting there with Pastor Monte Anderson and the folks at Lighthouse.
From Kodiak we went about as far North as you can go, to the Eskimo village of Wainwright. Pastor Gary Carlson has been faithful there for years and God has truly blessed the work. We had regular services on Sunday and then two services Monday night. We had more people than we had chairs! Praise the Lord! Bro. Carlson said it was the largest attendance they have ever had in their building. The Lord really worked in hearts and we had many trust Christ as Saviour. Those of you who pray for us and support our ministry will see some of those folks in Heaven one day and know that you had a part in them being saved.
After being in Wainwright, we had the opportunity to preach for our good friend Pastor Travis Watson at Manna Independent Baptist Church in Palmer. The folks at Manna have been a real help and encouragement over the years.
We also got to spend some time at our home church, Bible Baptist in Fairbanks. I could never adequately express what a blessing it is to have such a good church and Pastor. We had great services there and got to "catch up" with some folks we haven't seen for a while.
As we continued around Alaska, we were able to be in Anchorage, Chugiak, Nikiski, Kenai and Seward. Some of these works are well established and some are new or mission works that are "breaking new ground" for the Gospel.
Our last meeting in Alaska was in the village of Fort Yukon with Missionary Ronnie Starr. Bro. Starr has served faithfully for many years in a hard place and seen the Lord do amazing things among the people there. This work is about to become self supporting, praise the Lord! Please keep the Arctic Circle Baptist Church in your prayers as they look forward to what the Lord has in store.
We finished out the month of February by going from Fort Yukon, Alaska, to Manchester, New Hampshire, where we had a revival meeting at Fair Haven Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Bard. North, South, East or West, God is still saving souls and changing lives. Praise the Lord!
Please keep us in prayer and we'll keep on preaching the Gospel!
God bless you,
