Ministry Update
July - September 2006
Dear Praying Friends,
Ten years certainly does go by quickly! We just passed the ten year mark in our evangelistic ministry and it seems like we've just barely gotten started. We have had the privilege to minister to some of the finest people in the world and to become friends and fellow-laborers with God's choicest servants. Many of you have been praying for us since the beginning and we are very thankful for you. It would not be possible for us to stay on the road and do what we do if it were not for the prayers and support of our friends. Thank you for your love and support.
We were in Idaho in July for the annual Preaching Conference at Treasure Valley Baptist Church in Meridian. Then we went up to Yakima, Washington with Pastor Dave Brown at Yakima Bible Baptist Church. While we were in that area, we were able to spend some time with Liz's folks in Pasco, Washington as well. It was good for the kids to have some "grandparent time" as well as be a real encouragement to Liz's mother after her cancer returned in May.
Mrs. Paisley, Liz's mom, is doing better now and seems to be responding well to treatment. The doctors say that her tumors have decreased in size and her cancer count is going down. Your continued prayers for her health are much appreciated.
In August, we had some great meetings in Ohio, Missouri and Pennsylvania. Pastor Bryan Dahlke is doing a great job at Fallsburg Baptist Church in Fallsburg, Ohio. It is a small country church but God is blessing them in a great way. They are seeing folks saved and baptized on a regular basis. You can see pictures of a baptism service at the river while we were there on the web site.
I was able to fly to California for the annual "Labor Day in the Park" service at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Long Beach, California. We had a wonderful time of preaching, singing, food and fellowship and I got my usual sunburn while preaching in the park. That's what happens when you don't have much hair left on the top of your head!
The rest of September we had excellent meetings at Northwest Baptist in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Beacon Baptist in Lorain, Ohio and Lighthouse Baptist in Sandusky, Ohio.
A lot of changes have occurred in the last ten years. I started out single and then the Lord gave me a wonderful wife and two beautiful children. Hope is about to turn two and David is seven months old - what a blessing! We are on our fourth van and recently added a cargo trailer for all of our "stuff". I was looking at some pictures the other day and I think I may have lost a little bit of hair in the last ten years. Things do have a way of changing. As our lives, our circumstances and the world around us continue to change, it is good to know that one thing remains constant…the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is still the "Power of God unto salvation." What a blessing to be able to preach the unchanging truth of the Gospel!
Please continue to pray for us as we look forward to serving the Lord together with you for many years to come.
God bless you,
